LUNA CAFÉ Project is a multipurpose space run by young people involved in every stage of the brand LUNA. The architect Ramon Esteve has given expression to the contemporary concept of a bar by creating a space where you can have a quick breakfast in front of a façade glass whilst observing the urban landscape or having a late evening drink with friends.
The space has been laid out as a standard bar with café, making a peaceful environment, combining traditional construction elements with technological materials.
The essence of the project is the combination and harmony of materials and light, creating a game of textures and suggestions.
The furniture has been designed exclusively by Ramon Esteve for the bar and realised by Gandia Blasco for a new collection called LUNA. This collection aims to achieve a relaxed atmosphere avoiding rigid seating configurations. The materiality of the furniture is similar to the bar: galvanized steel, dark wood and leather. The longest wall is completed with a bench upholstered in same leather as the stools.
Various panels of square, minimal canvases painted in orange have been arranged to serve as a double function of decoration elements and acoustic absorption.
The concept of indirect lighting was extensively studied to make the space as comfortable as possible. As the main light concept, it is implemented behind the orange panels, behind the concrete cladded bar where the bottles stand and underneath the bench. In contrast, some areas have been focused with a lamp light designed exclusively for the bar, made out of orange methacrylate.
The final result is a space where you can serenely remain where the careful combination of materials, light and layout of the rooms and spaces makes you think that everything is where it should be.”
