Thirty years on from the launch of its first collection, Foscarini opens a new space in the city that embodies contemporary design: Milan.
Not just a simple showroom, but rather a space that marks the very spirit of the brand, which tells tales, transmits emotions, and stimulates creativity through light.
The new Milanese address in the Brera district is housed in a building that has a timeless charm and special appeal. The new space will house site-specific installations that will tell Foscarini’s stories interpreted by commissioned artists and designers. The space will therefore not merely be a retail shop, but rather a place that will blend with the city to become a point of reference for the design community.
Foscarini Spazio Brera opens on April 9 with an installation by Attilio Stocchi - called Seme/Seed. It is a seed of light, a seed of bright flowers, to pay homage to the street where Foscarini Spazio Brera is located. Enlarged thousands of times the seed becomes a light sculpture, 15 metres high and with 142 faces. Inside images of light and colour are projected, like a geode.
