Product description
Enigma 825 was designed by Japanese designer Shoichi Uchiyama in 2005 and extends the Enigma family, allowing it to be used in rooms with high ceilings. Enigma 825 is a larger version of Enigma 425, based on the design idea of floating shades held by ultrathin wires, providing a transparent and light expression. The name enigma stands for ‘mystery’, referring to the fact that the shades appear to hover when viewed illuminated from a distance. The design fitted well with Louis Poulsen´s product philosophy, and was a new interpretation of the multi-shade system - Japanese grace combined with Scandinavian simplicity.
In 2018, the original aluminium version is joined by a new, black edition, expanding the design’s decorative possibilities, and creating a serene visual and atmospheric effect as it shapes and channels light.
