Topic barstool
Product description
Concept
The TOPIC™ barstool was value engineered so that it could be produced in America. Its four legs all use the same bent solid steel rod that are welded together at its center axis and then radiates from it. “I realized that in order for us to produce stools out of steel in America, there needed to be away to reduce the amount of labor involved in manufacturing…we began developing barstools that use multiple parts of the same item,” stated Niu.
The barstool itself only consists of two parts. The rolled steel top and bent solid steel rod leg, which are mass-produced for cost effectiveness. To further reduce costs of manufacturing, the entire piece is then welded together and powder coated, requiring no assembly. “With TOPIC™ I was striving to design a barstool that had a fair amount of complexity to its look and feel, despite the fact that it was built from a couple of parts,” Nolen continued.
The TOPIC™ barstool are offer in a wide variety of custom colors that are matched to order.
