Designed by Roberto Lazzeroni in 2011 together with the Fred desk, the Ginger armchair has been a success since its debut and remains the most popular of all of the many chairs and armchairs in the Poltrona Frau catalogue. Its clean-cut and unfussy profile, sophisticated in its simplicity, evokes a welcoming and protective leather shell. The seat is extremely comfortable, the forms are both sinuous and highly graphical, guaranteeing harmonious continuity between the shell and the base. Designed as both the natural complement to the Fred desk and as a free-standing seat, the swivel version of Ginger is perfect for the study, while the fixed version is reliable favourite for the dining room.
The structure of the Ginger armchair is made from moulded thermoplastic composite polymer. The seat is padded with polyurethane foam. The upholstery is available in:
- Cuoio Saddle Extra leather for the external surface and Pelle Frau® leather for the internal surface.
- entirely upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather
- entirely upholstered in Kvadrat by Poltrona Frau fabric.
The base of the Ginger armchair is made from solid ash with hook support in black painted steel. It is available in the Fixed or Swivel versions with “return” mechanism which enables the armchair to rotate 360° and return to its starting position.
The base is finished in moka or wenge-stained ash. On request, it is possible to have special stains or RAL lacquer finishes based on a sample.
Konsep
The glorious simplicity of Ginger makes it a natural new addition to workspaces. The 360° swivel version with automatic return to the starting point is ideal for sitting at a desk or around a meeting table. The seat is a comfortable shell in hide and leather. Protective and ergonomic, it is enhanced by elegant stitching running right around the external edge.
The shell is in special high-density, low-thickness rigid moulded polyurethane, while the padding is in polyurethane foam. Ginger is upholstered in a single piece of 5 mm thick Cuoio Saddle Extra Leather, available in the two variants Dark Brown and Camel. The inner upholstery is in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, providing a pleasing contrast in material and colour.
The four-leg base is in wenge-stained solid ash with triangular section profile.
