Consummately finished seating culture
A design full of tension between lightness and energy, calm and dynamism. The intrinsic values guarantee a maximum of seating comfort. The pocket springs in the seat area, the unique back design of tubular steel with integrated steel spring and the armrest that grows out of the shape, ensure relaxed sitting for hours and years.
The thus derived Mono Loungs-S chair represents the rediscovery of an almost vanished seating culture, sitting “en passant”. With ease and charm the perfect sitting opportunity is created: Chat corners in the living room, a reading lounge in the bedroom, waiting areas in hallways, small breakfast and coffee corners in private as well as public areas.

Concetto
The archetype of elegant sitting
“Mono” is a master of adaptation. It appears familiar, but yet it exudes a very special aura. The classic, elegant representative of Wittmann upholstery carries the thumbprint of its designer Marco Dessí and impresses with maximum adaptability and clearly distinguishes itself by refining the familiar to perfection.

It is obvious that the lines and curves were carefully traced out during its design. The gentle, yet dynamic curves are testimony to absolute precision. Its gentle curves are not only pleasing to the eye. They carefully support the buttocks, back and shoulders. The foundation is provided by a stable, but light wood frame with handmade suspension and an elastic crossed surcingle. Four layers of foam rubber in the seat and back and the crowning with fine cotton padding, complete the perfection of seating comfort.
You can feel that „Mono“ was created by hand.
The clearly visible effort was worth it. When you sit on the “Mono” you simply cannot imagine sitting better or more elegantly. That is a genuine Wittmann.

Marco Dessí è uno studio di design multidisciplinare con sede a Vienna. Adottando un approccio pratico e collaborativo, lo studio concepisce il design come un processo interattivo. Le iniziative autonome si inseriscono in un’ottica di sperimentazione dei materiali e dei processi finalizzata alla successiva applicazione ai progetti commerciali e/o all’ulteriore sviluppo in funzione dei requisiti di produzione industriale o artigianale. I lavori commissionati non possono prescindere, in primo luogo, da un’analisi accurata del cliente, dei rispettivi metodi produttivi e delle relative potenzialità. Lo studio Dessí non si ispira ad uno stile specifico né predilige un materiale o si basa su una formula universale, bensì si dedica alla progettazione come attività caratterizzata da una profonda comprensione dei materiali, dei processi e del legame tra tali elementi. Il modo in cui un oggetto viene prodotto incide direttamente sulla sua estetica e sulla storia che racconta. Per questo, nei propri lavori Marco Dessí fa della trasparenza il nesso coerente tra il processo di progettazione e le effettive condizioni produttive. Fondato nel 2008, lo studio collabora con clienti internazionali e istituzioni culturali impegnate in settori eterogenei che spaziano dalla progettazione di arredi e prodotti alle soluzioni spaziali.
