Altek Italia Design is an Italian manufacturing Company dedicated to the study and realization of innovative, original and design furniture, based in Zanè in Vicenza, north of Italy. The Company was founded in 2009 but the brand ALTEK has origin since 1987 and reflects the heritage of four generations, which have been involved since 1920 in the production of seating and other furniture.

The passionate study and dedication to developing exquisite Italian design products have been the reason for the success of Altek Italia Design. The high reputation gained in the international arena has led the Company to work with over forty countries all over the world. Manufacturing doesn't exist without a specific procedure, oftentimes known, at times a jealously guarded secret, being the fruit of an experience passed on with love, from generation to generation, as done in the unique workrooms of craftsmen, changing into a complex, technological organization.

The product itself and the services offered are the results of a continuous dialogue between Altek and architects and designers who are testing every day what it means to live and work in environments that need to be practical as well as pleasant, representing an efficient investment too. The desire is to offer products where creativity and design are free expressions, thanks to that unique feeling and manufacturing experience gained through decades of work.

We have created a studio to provide a fully comprehensive bespoke interior design service for both Commercial and Residential clients. Altek is dedicated to the study and realization of innovative and original furniture for residential use and all the common areas, including lounge & office areas and public spaces.

Altek controls environmental activities during each step of the product lifecycle from the development and manufacturing to the distribution and disposal phases. Because only with research and innovation, it’s possible to compete in this global market and only by upgrading the production system and preventing pollution, it will be possible to hand over our testimony to the future generation.

In the long and fascinating history of the Altek brand, there have been numerous international awards. In more than a century of existence, Altek boasts the production of more than a thousand models. Furniture complements designed to withstand the passage of time and fashion. Some of our collections have received international recognition and have become iconic pieces in the history of design. In the 1990s in collaboration with Italian architect Sergio Mian, we created the Baba chair (covered by Copyright since 1992) that was officially presented at the Salone del Mobile in 1993 and in 1994 together with the Baba stool. The stool became a real icon in the United States thanks to Clint Eastwood, who used it as the protagonist for his speech on stage at the Republican convention in Tampa in 2012. In 2004 we won in the U.S., the prestigious Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum for the Vertigo collection, designed by Florin Baeriswyl, which is based on our company's extensive experience in tube bending. Since 2018, the AirWave modular seating collection, designed for the contract market, designed by Charles Godbout, founder of Topo Design has distinguished itself on the international scene, twice being a finalist at Mixology North, winning the Grands Prix du Design in 2019, a finalist for the Architizer A + Product Awards in 2021, and a Good Design Award winner in 2022.
