Profile
Sohrab Zafari (born 1972) is a german architect with persian roots. He lives and works in Berlin.
From 1994 until 2000 he studied construction engineering and architecture in Karlsruhe and Heidelberg. From earley on he was fascinated and influenced by the essence of architecture. About this he could learn a lot from the architect and professor Alberto Campo Baeza, as well as from old persian architecture, which he studied extensively. He worked with architects like Enric Miralles in Barcelona and Otto Steidle in Munich.
Sohrab has won several architecture awards. His design objekt „folded“ became part of the permanent collection of the Bröhan design foundation/ Berlin. His works were featured in multiple exhibitions, as well as national and international publications. He was invited to several lectures and as a guest critic at various universities.
Sohrab Zafari opened his office in 2001. His latest projects are: apartments and townhouses at the old city wall of Berlin (completion 2014) and planning of an apartment house along a firewall in Berlin. (construction starting 2015)
