A trained architect, Dominique Rigo quickly became passionate about the revolution in interior and furniture design in the early 1970s. He has since contributed not only to the blossoming of modern design in Belgium but also to the success of the country’s contemporary style in interior architecture. His talent has manifested itself above all through his successive Brussels-based commercial addresses and contemporary interior design projects since 1974. Dominique Rigo has always preferred a modernity which chooses comfort and functionality above the “trendy”, the “way out” and the ridiculous. Function, form, comfort, quality and durability are still the overriding priorities in all the company’s interior design projects …from Brussels to Liège, from Geneva to Genoa, from London to New York…
A FAMILY BUSINESS
Today, the father and two daughters partnership runs an interior design business comprising a team of seven interior architects and 3 modern furniture showrooms providing the largest and most comprehensive selection of contemporary furniture in Brussels. The “Rigo” style is contemporary, yet not minimalist, with a penchant for the Italian and Scandinavian designed furniture and the icons of 20th Century design. Several designs have never left the selection as today they have become “design classics”! Second daughter, Charlotte Rigo, joined the company straight after graduating in interior design in 1995. She has added a new dynamic to the company and her fresh approach to interior design projects is reflected in the evolution of the selection and presentation of products. Youngest daughter, Mélanie Rigo, joined in 2012 and oversees the company’s image and communication.
ONE COMPANY – THREE SHOWROOMS
The company currently runs three showrooms in Brussels including 2 individual, mono-brand, flagship stores (Cassina and Vitra) and a larger showroom, situated in Uccle, which offers a host of top international brands spread over 3500m² of showroom space. The most prestigious designer furniture, lighting and accessories brands are extremely well represented and are displayed in modern and harmonious ambiences at the three individual addresses, whether in Belle-Epoque town-houses or a more contemporary, “loft-like” setting.
PROFESSIONAL INTERIOR DESIGN ADVICE
The company offers a comprehensive interior design service. From drawing up professional plans to finding made-to-measure solutions, the team is experienced in planning, sketching, drafting, and CAD (computer-aided drafting) and will manage projects from A to Z. The Dominique Rigo team works on a regular basis with leading architects and designers to furnish and decorate a variety of prestigious residential and commercial developments, be they in Brussels, Belgium or further afield. The contemporary selection is vast and with nearly 40 years in the business, Dominique Rigo offers not only choice and good advice, but also strong relationships and forthright collaboration with suppliers and top Brussels-based architects. Above all, he and his team offer a wealth of experience in a wide variety of interior design projects.
