Giorgio Borruso Design

Giorgio Borruso Design is an award-winning Los-Angeles-based multi-disciplinary design firm, creating innovative works ranging from architecture to interiors and industrial design. The work of Giorgio Borruso Design has been seen throughout the world in over a thousand publications, receiving over two hundred international awards in architecture and design, including ‘Store of the Year 2015’ RDI International Design Awards, 2013 German Design Prize (German Design Council), ‘Best of the Best 2012’ RedDot Design Awards, ‘Practice of the Year 2012’ FX International Design Awards, nine International Architecture Awards and American Architecture Awards (Chicago Athenauem) and thirteen GOOD DESIGN Awards.

Biography

Giorgio Borruso
Italian Architect Giorgio Borruso is founder and principal of Giorgio Borruso Design. After receiving his architectural degree in Italy, he subsequently taught and worked in architecture and industrial design in Italy, Spain, Germany and the US. He was invited as a visiting scholar to UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) in 1997.

In 2000, he opened his Los Angeles offices. Borruso was honored as Designer of the Year 2005 by DDI, and was named Retail Design Luminary in 2006 for his contribution to the field of design. Giorgio Borruso has sat on the juries for Architectural Record, GOOD DESIGN, IIDA, India’s VM&RD and Contract Magazine. He is on the advisory board of design:retail magazine, and lectures extensively on architecture and design at universities and conferences globally.

Giorgio Borruso was the subject of a television documentary, Opening Soon: By Design which aired internationally in 2006 and 2007. He also appeared as a special guest on the television series, Designing Your Future in 2007.
