Who we are:
GKC is a leading mid-size architectural practice, based in Montreal, specializing in high-end commercial, industrial and retail projects across Canada. Almost 50 years of experience combined with diligence and vision has earned GKC the respect and loyalty of numerous prestigious national and international clients and has allowed us to create mutually rewarding long term relationships.
History:
The practice was founded in 1959 by M.D. Gross, O.A.Q., RAIC. Morty Gross graduated from McGill University in 1958 and established his practice along with Allan Spevack, Architect under the name, Spevack & Gross, later becoming M.D. Gross Architects. The firm specialized in industrial projects and grew steadily.
Jerry Coviensky, O.A.Q., O.A.A., N.S.A.A., N.B.A.A., A.A.A., LEED, graduated from McGill University in 1980 and was immediately recruited by M.D. Gross., becoming a full partner in 1985.
Richard Kaplin, O.A.Q., O.A.A., graduated from McGill University, in 1979, started a practice, Richard Kaplin Architect, in 1982, and merged with M.D. Gross Architects in 1986 to form Gross Kaplin Coviensky Architects.
Ron Keays, O.A.Q., graduated from McGill University in 1979 and worked at Peter Rose Architect and Fiset Miller Vinois before joining GKC in 1986, becoming an Associate in 1992.
Normand Coté, O.A.Q., O.A.A., graduated from Université Laval in 1985. He joined GKC in 1997, after previous employment with TPL and Larose Petrucci Architects, becoming an Associate in 2002.

What we believe:
Creating enduring relationships based on trust to achieve projects with our clients that are innovative, environmentally responsible and budget conscious. Our concern for the built environment and our client’s long term return on investment has led us to become LEED certified. GKC adds value by designing inspiring work environments work environments that respond to a changing world and our client’s need for improved productivity.
