MEHR üBER INEKE HANS
Profile
Ineke Hans has set up her designoffice INEKEHANS/ARNHEM in 1998 in Arnhem Holland, after graduating at the Royal College of Art in London in 1995 and working for three years for HABITAT UK. In her studio she works with a small team on a wide range of 3d projects. Furniture and products come as one- offs, small series, or as mass-produced items. Next to that the studio works on exhibitions and some architectural projects.
Initially the emphasis was on selfinitiated products, but her work evolved in many ways, acquiring the identity most clearly of a designer, with the impulses of a sculptor, and the industrial experience needed to define products with a commercial life. It centres around pictograms and archetypes and is clear, almost graphical. She investigates the psychological roots of products and plays with the interaction between people, objects and space.
Old and brand new production methods are used in intelligent and unconventional ways. Innovation in materials and techniques and re-thinking of excisting human values and habits have become most important triggers for new work and make it multi-layered.
Ineke Hans was Personal Shopper for Frankfurt Fair in 2008 and in 2009 she was Guest of Honour at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Her clients are leading design companies. Her work won international awards and is worldwide purchased by collectors and museums.
