Launched in 2015, JJ Acuna / Bespoke Studio is a multi-disciplinary interiors and concept architecture practice based in Hong Kong and Manila. Our considered and humanistic approach creates high-quality bespoke interiors and environments for hospitality, restaurants, work spaces and homes. We design for people who enjoy living well, seeing the world and experiencing different cultures.
JJ Acuna / Bespoke Studio was founded in 2015 by Creative Director, James JJ Acuna. A graduate of Cornell and Columbia University Architecture programmes, for more than a decade Acuna has worked on a wide range of lifestyle and workplace projects in Hong Kong, China, and the Asian region at large for a roster of select blue chip clients under well-established firms, RLPHK, Woods Bagot, and LWK. With the founding of his Hong Kong and Manila based studio, Acuna's aim is to help generate bespoke design solutions for lifestyle-oriented clients via his lens and insight as a skilled designer and thought-leader on current global trends in relation to design, service, and operation.
Within the year of establishment, the studio has achieved a "Silver Award" Delegation with the Hong Kong De-sign Awards for his work on the Elephant Grounds Restaurant on Star Street. In 2017, Acuna was awarded the "40 Under 40 2017" prize for Interior Design by Hong Kong's leading Design publication, Perspective Magazine. In 2019 JJ Acuna was named “Interior Designer of The Year” by a jury of his peers under the Design Anthology Magazine Awards banner. He was also longlisted “Emerging Designer of the Year 2019” by FRAME Magazine.
JJ Acuna / Bespoke Studio's work has been featured in various international publications such as Design Anthol-ogy, Wallpaper* Magazine, HYPEBEAST, High Snobiety, IndesignLive, the South China Morning Post, and The Contemporist. To date Acuna has completed projects or have projects in development in Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, Yangon, Taichung, Tokyo, Macau, Melbourne, and Los Angeles.
Acuna currently holds offices in Hong Kong and Manila.
