Biography
The architectural office Manthey Kula of Oslo, Norway, was established in 2004 by Beate Hølmebakk and Per Tamsen. Hølmebakk was born in Oslo in 1963, in 1990 she graduated from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, where she now holds a position as professor. Tamsen was born in Halmstad, Sweden in 1967. He graduated from Lund University in 1997. The office’s production spans from ideal, explorative projects to commissioned work. Two of the office’s projects are nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award; A hydro power station in 2009 and the roadside restroom facilities in 2011.
