Sevil Peach
Sevil Peach FSCD, born in Turkey, studied Interior Architecture at Brighton University, England. She formed her London based studio SevilPeach Architecture + Design with Gary Turnbull RIBA in 1994; having previously worked for several leading architectural practices.
As a team they have wide range of experience including retail, healthcare, exhibitions, residential and commercial projects. Over the past twenty four years, Sevil and her team has developed an in depth interest and expertise in workplace design, working with clients who have wished to recast their work environments to both better support their business goals, organisation and employees, and to develop new working patterns and relationships.
Her groundbreaking workplace solutions for the interiors of Vitra’s offices at their Weil am Rhein Campus in Germany, has led to a longstanding and on-going consultancy to Vitra on the creation of new office concepts and products, including the recent Studio Office at Vitra’s Headquarters in Birsfelden, as well as designing numerous furniture fairs, showrooms and offices for them throughout Europe and the USA. More recently she designed and curated the Company Home, as part of the Vitra ‘Work’ 2018 stand at the Orgatec fair and are currently designing their New York Showroom.
Her approach to work environments has resulted in an involvement with a great number of internationally recognised projects such as Sony Finance London, Mexx HQ Holland, Deloitte Prague, Novartis Basel & Shanghai, Eczacibasi Holdings Istanbul, Spaces Holland, Swiss Re HQ Zurich, Kvadrat HQ Denmark, Microsoft HQ Holland, Pan MAcmillian London and Artek HQ Helsinki.
An extensive list of collaborations with distinguished architects accompanies her personal portfolio. She has recently finished a new concept laboratory building for Novartis at their new campus in Shanghai, China and the new Headquarters for Swiss Re in Zurich, with both projects being executed with Diener+ Diener Architekten.
This list of collaboration extends to include Herzog & de Meuron on the Tate Modern Extension, London, as well as other collaborations with Kengo Kuma, Alejandro Aravena, Sergison Bates, FCJZ, Chang Ke, Maya Lin, Toshiko Mori and a brand new Courthouse & Judicial office complex in collaboration with Hootsmans Architectuurbureau in the Dutch city of Breda and is currently working with David Chipperfield Architects for the new Rolex HQ in New York.
Sevil has participated as keynote speaker in a number of International workshops and conferences for, amongst others, the Bauhaus, Dessau; Roskilde University, Denmark; Elisava University, Barcelona; IE University, Madrid; Oslo City Conference; Designmai, Berlin; Mind the Gap Conference, Istanbul; SIA Symposium, Basel; LAI, Amsterdam; Worktech, Amsterdam; Marista University, Mexico, Inside City, IE Conference at the Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture & Design, Middlesex University, Getting the Baukultur Conference for The Swiss Federal Office of Culture, Vitra Summit and led various summer workshops for the Vitra Design Museum at Boisbuchet, France.
In 2018 Sevil was honoured with Frame Magazine’s inauguaral ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
In 2019 SevilPeach received Dezeen’s Interior Designer of the Year Award.
