Giuseppe Minaldi and Valentina Giampiccolo
Profile
Giampiccolo Valentina, was born in Ragusa in 1977 and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Syracuse in 2007; After a stint at the studio Ternullomelo Lisbon, she went back to Ragusa, where she began a series of work experience with various design studios.
Giuseppe Minaldi was born in Catania in 1973, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania in 1999; after several years of work in the field of interior design and furniture on behalf of Architecture studies and manufacturing companies, founded in 2006 together with the Arch. Carlo Guarneri, the study of design Strange Spheres. In 2007 he enrolled at the Faculty of Architecture of Siracusa. In 2010 he ended the experience Strange Spheres, moved to Ragusa. Here he founded with Valentina Giampiccolo study GUM design that in addition to dealing with architecture, organizes and promotes organized actions in the visual arts.
March 2012_studio GUM has been selected and invited to participate in the National Selinunte 30 <40 Award, recognition of thirty of the best Sicilian architects under 40, organized by AIAC Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism of Rome and by the critic of Architecture Prof. Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi.
October 2012_in within the International selection SAIE 2012 competition for young designers under 40 and organized by BolognaFiere by means of Archi-Europe, the project carried out in collaboration with the ' Arch. Giuseppe Gurrieri house DCS, won the third prize in the Housing category requalification; President Mario Cucinella jury.
December 2012_in occasion of Architecture Now !, organized by the Order of Architects of the province of Ragusa and the Foundation ARCH A jury composed by Prof. Marco Mulazzani, Prof. Arch. Matteo Vercelloni and by Prof. Arch. Mauro Galantino rewards and signals respectively, the house Francavilla and MET projects from the study between 2010 and 2012.
June 2013_studio GUM by AIAC is again invited to participate in the meeting Architects meet in Selinunte 2013 to compete for the Young Award Sicilian-an idea of architectural firms. The jury consists of Domenico Cogliandro, Francesco Pagliari Marcello Pazzaglini and chaired by Alessandra Muntoni, it gives a mention to study GUM for the work presented.
