Founded by leading interior designers Staffan and Monique Tollgård, the Design Store is the culmination of their decade-long journey in design.
 
Scandinavian-born Staffan Tollgård launched his interiors practice in London in 2005, designing creative, contemporary interiors in London and internationally.  As the practice grew so did his passion for curating the very best of contemporary design, gathered from around the world. 
 
He was convinced that great design deserves to be seen, and to be sold by designers able to properly tell its story. In an increasingly digitalised world, he invested in a bricks and mortar showroom, staffed by interior designers that understand the language of design, the pieces themselves and their place in a new story: that of the collector.
 
As Staffan explains, “The ‘Red Thread’ of the Design Store wraps around each piece that I have selected and each material that I have chosen for the store. It ties together bold, contemporary luxury; pieces that tell a story of their maker, their material and their provenance; excellence in design and in the journey from the designer to the end client.”
 
The Design Store is a light-filled 3500 square foot flagship space that overlooks the docks of Grosvenor Waterside, a few minutes walk away from the Design district of Pimlico Road.  A personally curated selection of the best and the bold of contemporary design is set within a beautifully designed space that Living Etc called ‘fabulous’ and a ‘must-see’. 
 
The Design Store is managed by Erik Odell Romanoff - Erik trained at the Inchbald School of Design and since then has worked in high-end retail environments. His design education gives him an in-depth insight into the spaces his clients are trying to create, not simply the products they might need to source. He brings a friendly, easy-going and infectious manner to his dealings with clients and colleagues alike and is committed to impeccable customer service.
