Wash & Fold

“WASH & FOLD” is a home delivery washing agent equipped with launderette.

Its Hayama shop is located in residential area near Isshiki Kaigan Beach and provide a value as gathering place to the local residents. The shop also has a bakery and a juice stand besides the launderette function, so you can enjoy oven-fresh bread and fresh-squeezed juice, in the big table set in the shop, while washing.

In Hayama, the shop and its launderette culture are entrenching in the local community smoothly.

The interior is designed under the conscious desire to make the shop as a landmark of the area and put a big clock on the façade facing the main street. For the walls and the counter rising edge of the shop, gym flooring recycled material to highlight the philosophy of WASH & FOLD, “ecology” and “recycle” that we were well aware of.

As a result of the series of meetings about design and vision of the shop, some idea to make the shop symbolic in the area and usage of recycled materials. To decrease the visibility of the machines, washers and dryers are located in the back of the shop and hide them with the gym flooring wall. Number of green plants in the shop create cozy and warm atmosphere.
