Filippa K’s newly opened Amsterdam store, on PC Hooftstraat 125, channels Nordic style. The flagship store serves as the latest chapter in the swedish-based fashion house’s ongoing transformation, as Creative Director Liisa Kessler explores dualities within a single retail space.
Elements of refinement are balanced with rawness, while vintage accents are complemented by a series of commissioned works that draw on a constellation of collaborators, from artists to designers and artisans. The space has been designed in collaboration with arechitecture studio Profan, involved into the Helsinki store project too, and it has the aim to represent the new conceptual approach to store design for Filippa K.
Bathed in soft, yet striking Nordic icy blue, the new store also emphasizes the usage of texture – with hanging changing room tapestries made from leftover yarn from previous Filippa K collections.
The lighting project frames the store: Traceline Surface runs all along the ceiling, creating an infinite perception, and a coherent lighting result. Traceline Surface in 3500K assures a neutral light temperature, and works in combination with the icy-nordic inspired furniture and colour palette.
