CEDIA®, the trade association for home technology professionals, has been hosting focus groups with smart home architects and interior designers as part of its outreach programme. The overall aim is to increase dialogue between the smart-home design and build community and the home technology community, in the process making each more aware of what the other can bring to a successful smart home technology project.
The association has worked with the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and the British Institute of Interior Design to offer a training course on Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes that is CPD accredited by these professional bodies.
At the ISE show (of which CEDIA is a co-owner) there is an abundance of smart home technology on the show floor as well as a full programme of professional development sessions covering a mixture of technology and business topics, in addition to emerging trends within the smart-home industry.
At ISE 2020, CEDIA is hosting a Design & Build Conference. Aimed specifically at architects, interior designers and other design & build professionals working on smart homes, it will explore some of the outstanding results that can come from fruitful design and technology collaboration. Taking place on the morning of Thursday 13 February, it will be followed in the afternoon by a guided tour of the ISE show floor.
There are two areas of the show floor that you will find most of interest – the Residential Technology Zone and the Smart Building Technology Zone. You can find out more about the various home technology platforms and connectivity standards, from key exhibitors including Crestron, Control4, KNX, Savant and Z-Wave. Discover systems for designing and controlling lighting scenes in a room – and responding to changes in ambient light levels during the day. You’ll also see solutions for improving the visual impact of loudspeakers, control panels and other elements of home technology… and so much more besides at ISE 2020.
