Product description
Designed 1944, executed for the Casa Minola, Turin, velvet upholstery, shaped and carved ebonised legs.
261⁄2in. (67cm.) height; 66in. (168cm.) width, 32in. (82cm.) depth
Built for art collectors Ada and Cesare Minola, the furnishing and decoration for this interior was carried out at the height of the war using available materials and skilled craftsmen. A subtle and fluid interior, the furnishings are characterised by soft, sensual and organic forms. This interior, together with the slightly later Casa Rivetti interior of 1947, are the two most outstanding examples of Mollino's dramatic and highly idiosyncratic vision.
