An important armchair, Model 31,
designed by Alvar Aalto for the Paimio Sanatorium/Finland in 1931, manufactured by Finmar, bent and moulded laminated birch, red painted seatshell, numbered 8, stamped MADE IN FINLAND/FINMAR and with factory logo, height 69 cm, width 50 cm, depth 74 cm, height of seat 38 cm.
A rare example with a red seat, the colour well preserved at the rear and fading at the front. Good original condition with attractive patina due to ageing.
