A rare cabinet, designed by Osvaldo Borsani in collaboration with Lucio Fontana, Italy, around 1950, rectangular corpus veneered in mahogany, two folding doors, glass underlaid with a fabric designed by Barnaba Fornasetti, gilt bronze handles after a model by Lucio Fontana, the birch veneered interior fitted with drawers and shelves, height 145 cm, length 158.5 cm, depth 43 cm.
The original fabric by Piero Fornasetti was replaced at a later date by the fabric designed by Barnaba Fornasetti.
One of a pair. The second, identical cabinet was sold at Christie‘s London on 15th May 2002.
