A chair, designed around 1928 by Franz Schuster, Frankfurt, for Walter Knoll, manufactured by Röllser & Weissenberger, Stuttgart, beechwood stained to simulate walnut, the seat and backrest covered with wickerwork, with a paper label Prof. Schuster, height 79 cm, depth 52 cm, width 50 cm, height of seat 37 cm.
This chair from the Prodom series was designed within the framework of the Frankfurt Housing Project, which provided inexpensive system furniture for modern publicly assisted housing.
The Austrian architect Franz Schuster taught at the Frankfurt Städelschule from 1927 onwards.
