Product description
35.5” x 35.5” x 18.5”
This table was produced as part of the furnishings designed by Saarinen & Eames for the Museum of Modern Art’s Organic Design in Home Furnishings exhibition in 1940. This grouping of furniture won first prize for “Category B: Furniture for a living room”.
It was produced by Red Lion and sold at Bloomindales and other department stores. However, because of America’s entry into World War II, the Red Lion Company stopped producing this line after only a few weeks.
It is not known exactly how many were produced and sold; this is one of two known to exist outside of institutional collections.
