Product description
This rare chair's name comes from its resemblance to a pelican with outspread wings. To date, only four are known to have been made: A pair in black leather, one of which recently sold at Brunn Rasmussen June 18-20, 2002, lot 510, the other in a private collection; our example; and a fourth, whose whereabouts are unknown. Our example and the fourth are possibly the two from the Cabinetmaker's Guild exhibition of 1940, which were re-upholstered in the fifties.
