Rare and early design by Aalto illustrates his influence from Marcel Breuer and tubular steel furniture being developed at the Bauhaus. Ironically, Breuer developed his Isokon furniture based on the designs of Aalto. The Convertible sofa by Aalto folds flat to become a bed and this noteworthy design was first shown at the "Minimal Apartment Exhibition" in Helsinki in 1930.
