Lost in translation? Far from it.

Japan has a long and highly respected craft tradition, for sure. (Tell us something we don't know.)

But few Japanese design brands have managed to break out of their domestic market and become go-to manufacturers for the international contract market the way CONDE HOUSE has. In business for over 50 years, and collaborating with such design luminaries as Nendo and Naoto Fukasawa, these wood-furniture experts create quietly designed, iconic pieces that marry high-tech production with high-touch craftsmanship.

The result are long-life, ultra-comfortable chairs, as well as tables, that are Japanese enough – so to speak – in their expression, while also referencing a Scandi aesthetic. Celebrated interior designer Ilse Crawford is just one of their fans. You can read my interview with her below.
