Ready for take-off
Piero Lissoni is not a pilot. (As far as I know. Maybe it's a secret hobby of his.) That said, the highly regarded Italian architect and designer has – as a new short film by B&B Italia reveals – been fascinated with aeroplanes since his childhood. It's the idea of levity that enthralls him.
So when the premium brand's artistic director came to design a new outdoor furniture collection, he proposed a super-light aluminium frame that uses metal-bending processes typically employed in the aeronautics industry. This, combined with its composition of recycled and recyclable materials, means that Borea most definitely touches the earth lightly.
