Alape's new "ProShield" antibacterial coating sets an example for hygiene and sustainability and further enhances the already non-porous and hygienic surface of the glazed steel. The silver-enriched surface is now available as standard with every white basin and every white washstand – without surcharge. The precious metal ideally complements the natural components of glazed steel, because every Alape product is completely recyclable at the end of its service life.
The unique "ProShield" surface is created by the synthesis of steel, glass and silver. The addition of silver creates a bactericidal surface, i.e. bacteria die off and cannot multiply any further.
To do so, the Goslar-based company relies on a process that is absolutely harmless to both people and the environment. Furthermore, the positive properties of silver have been known for 3000 years. The incorporated silver ions are neither visible nor noticeable. Through new laboratory tests, Alape has once again obtained official confirmation of the effectiveness of "ProShield" in its surfaces from the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute (Utrecht, the Netherlands).
