Synaesthesia is an experience of simultaneous perception, a process that consists in the spontaneous and non-rational overlapping of different senses. Even very distant concepts are brought together through associations belonging to different sensory spheres.
After the first collection characterised by bright colours and lively subjects, INK.RUGS continues the synaesthetic experience with a more refined and at times minimalist line, which examines nuanced languages, perceptive contrasts, even strong ones, but always maintaining a harmonious balance of colours and shapes.
Synaesthesia II brings onto 13 new rugs something that is not a rug, transporting eyes and minds into a universe of personal and imaginative connections. A proposal that recalls the world of classic rugs, reinterpreting them with elements and surfaces that you would not expect to find on a rug, such as wood, paper, cement or stone.
The surprise effect is what the brand is aiming for: to deceive the eye of the observers prompting them to ask "...is this really a carpet?" and perhaps even to reach out a hand to have a tactile confirmation of the object in front of them. A real synaesthesia!
