BRAND VAN EGMOND® was founded in 1989.
William Brand (Owner/Designer) graduated at the Utrecht School of Arts in The Netherlands as an architect /sculptor.
He is a pioneering artists, with a passion for objects and design. His sole intention is to create art without constraints.
Autonomy remains at the very core of his artistic and personal existence. A mix of affec- tion for craftsmanship, love of experimenting with new materials and techniques and re- spect for times gone by result in innovative designs. This results in yearly launches of new collections. The handcrafted lighting sculptures radiate passion and emotion, and leave a long- lasting impression.
Many companies apply BRAND VAN EGMOND design. Numerous hotel chains, including the Four Seasons, W Hotels, and Okura, have their signature handmade lighting sculptures in their lobbies, spas and Royal suites. Brands like Louis Vuitton, Chopard and Neuhaus have invited BRAND VAN EGMOND to create the very best lighting objects for their retail spaces. Many lounges, bars and private clubs have also used their work.
Besides designing lighting sculptures, William also works on architectural and interior projects.
In 2015 BRAND VAN EGMOND participated at the world’s leading Art and Antique fair TEFAF, in Maastricht, The Netherlands in cooperation with architect Tom Postma.
In 2014 BRAND VAN EGMOND celebrated its 25th anniversary. We look back with pride and pleasure on a quarter of a century of designing and producing the finest lighting sculptures.
In 2013 BRAND VAN EGMOND installed a newly designed lighting sculpture in the latest Chopard jewellery boutique in Kuwait.
In 2013 BRAND VAN EGMOND participated at the world’s leading Art and Antique fair TEFAF, in Maastricht, The Netherlands in cooperation with architect Tom Postma.
In 2013 the BRAND VAN EGMOND team presented a new lighting solution at the London edition of Architect & Work.
In 2012 BRAND VAN EGMOND started cooperating with Louis Vuitton, installing their customised lighting in several new boutiques.
In 2012 BRAND VAN EGMOND expanded their headquarters in Naarden, The Netherlands, with a Design Studio and showroom where guests can see and feel what lighting can do for a space.
In 2008 the Dutch government selected the Night Watch to decorate the VIP lounge at the World Expo in Zaragoza which was opened by H.R.H. Prince Willem-Alexander and H.R.H. Princess Máxima.
In 2006 Patricia Urquiola selected Flower Power for her Design Yearbook.
