Design competence for ambitious office furniture

Inwerk was founded in 2001 and is a developer and manufacturer of office furniture systems with 115 employees at its two locations in Nordrhein-Westfalen and in Hessen. With the claim as design avantgarde the company creates series that show a unique aesthetics and are registered as trademarks. Due to their market success, they are already regarded today as the classics of tommorow.
Inwerk is awarded with the Top 100 Innovation Prize of the German medium-sized businesses and has received many design awards for its products often produced in Germany. For instance the electrically adjustable desk Masterlift® 4 and the furniture construction system Masterbox® were awarded with the Red Dot Award and the desk Masterlift® 5 was awarded with „Focus open“, the design prize of Baden-Württemberg.

The team of internal and external designers and engineers combines creativity with a high technical affinity. One focus of the development work is on ergonomic office furniture systems, which open up new functionalities for modern workplaces by integrating sensors and their mobile connection via app.

With the "Forum für Bürokultur" (Forum for Office Culture), Inwerk is hosting what is the largest office furniture exhibition of its kind in Germany on an area of 3,500 sqm, with a sales department that is available both on site and online. The multi-brand show presents inspiring office furniture worlds on five levels in the scenery of a large trade fair. Many European market leaders use this platform for the exclusive presentation of their products.

The Forum is located in a former brewery which has been completely renovated and has been the venue for several events at the "Day of Architecture" of the Chamber of Architects of NRW.

Architects often visit the forum together with their customers, who experience a panorama of modern office concepts and gain an authentic impression of their future furnishings.

In 2021 Inwerk opened LAB-3 on its second location in Biebertal near Gießen — the first innovation lab of the office furniture industry. The 2.500 sqm building follows the claim as „Home of New Work“ to synergistically connect the three factors building architecture, workplace environments and work culture in favour of highly productive knowledge work.

With its maximum variable infrastructure composed of workplaces and workspaces, among others with Work Cafe and Work Garden, LAB-3 fulfils a dual function: It is one side authentic office operation of Inwerk and designed for 60 workstations. On the other hand it is experimental space of the world of work 4.0 and a living world of experience for architects and customers of Inwerk. All visitors have the opportunity to transparent understand how the value creation apparatus „Office“ can work comprehensive and cost-effective and how it also can promote motivation, efficiency and well-being of the employees.
