Profile:
Victor Alcami
I am an architect from Barcelona, educated at the Polytechnic University (ETSAB). My journey through Santiago de Chile, Edinburgh, and settling in Sydney, Australia, enriched my understanding of architecture, transcending cultural and geographical borders.
Teaching design studio in different universities while practicing for the last twelve years and my passion for all sorts of creative inspirations helped me explore and develop a conceptual approach to design that is full of symbolism and references; from cinema to art, fashion and architecture.
What fascinates me is that Architecture has the capacity to propose complex questions in a universal language that everyone can experience. For instance, in the Terrace House Mirage the mirrors are an invitation to reflect on what space is and what its limits are, if there are any.
Beauty and mystery serve in this project as a cultural and architectural statement that seeks to introduce an element of fantasy into everyday life; an aspirational escape from reality.
