Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia is an international architectural firm based in Genoa, Milan and Paris. The experience gained in more than 25 years of design activity, developed at all scales of intervention, is reflected in the depth of approach to the most sensitive issues of the city and the territory.
Founder of the Atelier(s) is Alfonso Femia: in 1995, creator and co-founder of 5+1, which became 5+1AA in 2005, and then changed its name, in 2017, to Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia. He accompanies his professional activity with an intense research activity on themes connected to architecture, urban and territorial social contexts, governance, and climate change.
Among the projects of the past decade: the new Vimar headquarters in Marostica, Dallara Academy in Parma, the new BNL-BNP Paribas Group headquarters in Rome, Les Docks de Marseille, The Corner in Milan, social housing projects in Italy, social, directional and touristic housing in France.
In the last two years, in Italy, the firm won the competition for the redevelopment and rehabilitation of the first Italian State Mint in Rome, for the Porto Corsini terminal in Ravenna, for the Cittadella della Cultura in Messina, for the Porto Marghera-Venezia terminal, for the Reggio Calabria waterfront, for the Salerno airport and The Park of Justice in Bari; and abroad, university campuses in Annecy and Avignon in France.
