MORE ABOUT COTTO MEDITERRANEO
Cotto Mediterraneo comes to life in 1983 thanks to the will of the three founders: Enrico Bisogno, Matteo D’Amore and Giovanni Di Martino. Their previous experience, gained in the pottery manufacture field, and a bright entrepreneurial spirit originate the new company, which soon appears capable to realise an innovative product for the time: the handmade glaze terracotta tiles. The peculiarity of the products and its market acknowledgment allows the company to collect a number of reviews on several trade magazines (Interni, L’ambiente cucina, Il Bagno, CasaViva, Casa Vogue, Gran Bazar) and commissions by the big structure managers, aiming to embellish its spaces with the distinctive covering from the company based in Cava De’ Tirreni. Throughout the years Cotto Mediterraneo has constantly availed itself of some well known designers and artist collaboration (Firouz Galdo, Eugenio Manzoni, Maurizio Loubet, Maurizio Locatelli, Sara Adinolfi) and participated to various Cerasaie editions and trade fairs, among which the International Fine Art and Antiques Fair in Dubai. However, it is the new generation entrance, along with the exit of the Palazzo group, that allows the company to fully regain the family management passion and its Mediterranean vocation through a range of products inspired to the contamination of different cultures.
