MORE ABOUT CRAFTWAND
DESIGN CONCEPT
Nature System’s newly introduced CRAFTWAND® modular wood wall has been skillfully created to transform a centuries-old material – wood – in a trendsetter of the wall variation in contemporary design. Inspired by the “old-school“ non-industrial traditions of wood crafting, favoring quality and individuality over mass-production, the designer Johannes Wolf has succeeded to “tame” the wild and patchy nature of European beech wood by shaping it into clean geometric forms, cubes and rectangular prisms.
The unusual mix between material roughness and CRAFTWAND®’s pure lines is both a tribute to nature, unique and authentic, and to modern design ideas. Its net effect is the transfer of wood walls from their traditional settings, log cabins & wooden retreats, to any interior – old-style, minimalist, futuristic, or eclectic – along with all the benefits of using a natural material to create eco-homes and spaces: healthy, relaxing, and free of environmental pollution.
The genuine nature of wood with color accents, knots, cracks and splits is integrated in the design, in acknowledgement of the value of the forest resource, and represents sustainability, highlighting the conservational concept also inspiring CRAFTWAND®.
EASY FITTING, FLEXIBILITY, CREATIVITY
CRAFTWAND® is also designed with an intelligent modular solution that makes it easy to build or take down and re-build in another position or location, without any mess or waste as no glues are used. Simply lock the modules together atop one another and reinforce them using dowel pins and screws.
With CRAFTWAND®, designers and architects can divide or personalize any space with endless creative possibilities. An accent wall, partition wall, or even furniture base, it is natural, decorative, non-structural, it stands independently (un-attached to dry walls) and it can be used for all interiors (hallway, living, dining, kitchen, office, etc.), and environments (residential, hospitality, corporate, and commercial).
The system also integrates invisibly PC, electrical and communication wiring, cabling, lights. Special cut-outs and embedded features to accommodate or display items (keys and other small paraphernalia, gadgets, cosmetics, flowers, wine bottles, kitchen spices, olive oil & vinegar bottles).
CRAFTWAND® can be built wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling or as a partial wall structure connected only to the floor or to a main wall. It can be installed having one or more angles for partitioning purposes, T-shape style, Z-shape, U-shape, or L-shape.
CRAFTWAND® – THE SYSTEM
Eight basic modules (length-formats of 150mm, 300mm, 450mm, 600mm, 750mm, 900mm, 1050mm, and 1200mm) which can be combined in fixed or random patterns, and specialized grooved modules for floor/ceiling/main wall affixing or incorporation of pipes and cables for invisible connections; additionally, various feature modules combine functionality with aesthetic design.
Made from solid beech wood (Fagus Sylvatica). With a cross-section of 150 × 150mm, the modules are planed and finely sanded. Edges are smoothed (3mm chamfer). The modules are finally given an oil finish.
CRAFTWAND®2.0 consists of engineered wood modules with an in-built fastening solution, which makes it simple to assemble interior non-structural walls and room dividers as well as furniture. This type of CRAFTWAND® is a stripped down version which focuses on weight reduction without compromising the system robustness.
CRAFTWAND® 2.1 consists of modules that combine an engineered wood inner structure and solid wood planks to keep the same general look as the primary CRAFTWAND® with the added benefits of considerable weight reduction and a wider range of surface options. The surfaces are available in beech and oak as planks or as engineered solid wood panels (horizontal or vertical stripes).
CRAFTWAND® IN SHORT
CRAFTWAND®. Green living. Between tradition and modernity. Experiment new interior solutions. Create endless possibilities. Show and hide items.
