Founded in 2002 by David Archer and Julie Humphreys, David Archer Architects bring the highest levels of design expertise to all projects consistently creating theatrical spaces, which ensure longevity in use.
The practice’s current project portfolio ranges from private houses and residential developments to restaurants and hotel design. The practice has the capacity to work in variety of roles across a wide range of sectors in collaboration with specialist design consultants and other architects.
Current hotel projects include The Great Northern Hotel at London’s Kings Cross, which comprises of a 92 room boutique hotel opening directly onto the new Kings Cross Station concourse. The office is also working on the designs of a number of 5 star boutique hotels in Portugal, Koh Samui, Vienna and Innsbrook.
Completed conservation projects include the refurbishment of 4no grade II listed buildings in central Bath, including both medieval and Georgian buildings. These buildings provide 10 residential units and 4 retail units completing £1.2m worth of detailed conservation work. The practice is also currently overseeing the design and construction of a number of restaurants in central London, as well as taking works for the National Gallery to provide an outdoor terrace café overlooking Trafalgar Square. Residential projects include the design of 9 new build individual villas on the Croation coastline where the brief has required the design of both the buildings and interiors.
The practice currently consists of 15 individuals, 10 of whom are registered architects. The practice is organized to provide experienced staff overseeing all levels of works, with teams and individuals being dedicated to projects through the entirety of the design and construction process. All members of staff have unique experience both in the delivery of highly individual bespoke interiors as well as the detail and construction of traditionally detailed and historic building work.
