About dua
MORE ABOUT DUA
The dua collection combines ideas from name designers, who each have their own conception of thinking and working. dua gives an insight into their basic re search and creative powers. The production is developed from the principle of short ways, according to an economic and ecological balance, and personal contact. So recent computer-aided operations are paired with specific workmanship. dua attaches great importance to the storyline of a design. To emphasize this purpose, we cooperate with our broadly based network: the dua connection. It is composed of designers, choreographers and dancers, directors and actors as well as photographers, video artists and musicians. With this network, dua realises your individual ideas.
Alexander Esslinger, Managing Director
The business graduate, Managing Director and founder of dua has made it to his
task to manufacture products from young name designers in Germany and to exploit
them nationally and internationally.
Quote:
„With my work, I want to put products and personality on the market. And this thought extends into to the production. Therefore we follow the principle of short ways, according to economic and ecological balance, and personal contact.“
„When I catch sight of a good design, I want to explore its genesis. Where did the idea come from? What kind of materials are worked up and why? Every concept is related to man. Either the one for whom it was conceived, or the one who created it. I want to tell one detail of this story. Tell, how these designs „grew up“.“
Sebastian Däschle, Art Director/Designer
The founder and art director of dua creates furniture as well as stage
design and beyond that is part of the interdisciplinary group „crucible”.
Quote:
„three-dimensional
playful
rudimentary
framing
hitchhiking sience“
„broad aim, without any illusions or expectations, but wide awake for the things to come. Call it coincidence, call it destiny, ... be open-minded and prepared.“
Arne Amtsfeld, Designer
Arne Amtsfeld is a skilled mechanic and qualified designer. His working areas
are manifold. Apart from furniture, he is also developing a electric supported
load bike. A visionary idea of urban mobility for the future.
What‘s your way of creating?
„three-dimensional is best! - with my hands - with my brain - to build models - to vary them - to reject them - to discuss them - to get inspired - to try out- to sketch - to take some pictures - to composite them - 3D / CAD - to extract - to flesh out - to elaborate - ( and go back to the beginning......) often it‘s just the combination of everything.“
What‘s important for you?
„To have the right passion for the next project, because passion is my greattest stimulus for new ideas.“
„born to shape!“
Tobias Juretzek, Designer
Tobias Juretzek studied furniture design and exhibition architecture. His design not only reflects formal aspects but also considers the virtues of things. His projects were exhibited on numerous fairs and exhibitions.
Quote:
„I think the background of things forms the design. It‘s the virtues of the designer which rise the prototype. Thus the things gain a character and that‘s whatmakes them so interesting.“
Christian Poppel, Designer
Christian Poppel designs shops, cafés and bars with his studio „cpms”. Rooms
and furniture - rooms in furniture.
Quote:
„Not the view on furniture in particular and on products in general, but their use makes them full accessible - some of them already contextualized with their surroundings, but never without their user.“
Miriam Aust, Designer
In her work as product designer, she focuses on furniture and interieur. Her designing process is guided by a narrative approach – images and collages turn into products.
In 2010, she won the Grand Prize for her design “Vase&Leuchte” at the Interieur in Belgium.
Quote:
What’s your way of creating?
“I observe everyday habits and circumstances, collect images and contextualize them anew with the help of collages - New stories come into existence.
