MORE ABOUT EMU GROUP
Emu began in 1951 in Marsciano, Umbria, and during the 60s found its natural vocation in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, in which it could best express the technology, cultural heritage and local know-how gained from experience of working with metal.
During the 80s and 90s, Emu became a leader in the garden furniture sector, with one of its greatest successes, the Rio chair, selling more than 8 million items since its launch.
In recent years, Emu has enhanced the positioning of its brand with the development of innovative products created in collaboration with some of the world's top designers, while at the same time continuing and updating its traditional steel products for private gardens and contract projects.
Emu's metal furniture is produced at the company's Marsciano premises, which cover a total of 70,000 square metres and employ 150 workers. The quality of the products is guaranteed by the company's extensive experience consolidated over 60 years of manufacture, while the firm's commitment to research into new materials and production techniques, combined with fruitful collaboration with the best European and international designers, allows it to develop outdoor furniture collections which are innovative in design and execution, and characterised by a distinctive elegance and comfort.
Emu collections have been created in collaboration with renowned designers such as Arik Levy, Carlo Colombo, Paola Navone, Patricia Urquiola, Jean-Marie Massaud, Marco Marin, Christophe Pillet, Jean Nouvel, Lucidi-Pevere and Stefan Diez, whose products have been chosen and used in numerous prestigious projects and settings all over the world. The new collections to be presented at the Spoga and Maison & Objet trade fairs in September 2015 bear the signatures of Stefan Diez (Ciak) and Christophe Pillet (Kira).
Emu families of products include a wide range of seating, tables, sunbeds, armchairs, sofas and accessories and are available in various materials, from metal to aluminium, wicker to teak, and combinations with materials such as textilene and elastic webbing.
The numerous projects and prestigious settings which employ EMU furniture bear witness to the continuing success of the firm, which currently ranks among the major European manufacturers of metal outdoor furniture.
