Profile
Working for some of the most famous Italian Fashion Designers and Jewellery makers (Barba’s, Gianfranco Ferré, Vhernier) he designed several store concepts and the execution of their special boutiques and showrooms worldwide. Over the years he brought to completion the design of many residential projects, both in Italy and abroad (Milano, Paris, Moscow, Beiruth, Cannes, New York).
The common dominator in all those project, chosen according to the desires of the Clients, is the spatial complexity that breaks down codified typologies with the idea to create a spatial and functional continuum built on the plasticity of the volumes and of the material textures. In this sense it is probably possible to unite those projects under the definition of ‘eclecticism’, not intended as omnivorous stylistic adoption, taken from the history of architecture, but as knowledgeable and sensitive use of a complex language brought to bear on a problem in a creative way. In the domestic as well the commercial spaces every element of the composition is studied in detail and accented by the use of the appropriate construction material: wood, metal, glass, plastic, stone or marble; the materials “tested” and checked with a rigorous evaluation of aesthetic functionality and cost-effectiveness, such that formal invention is melded with technological innovation.
He has taught Architectural and Interior Design at the Institute of Applied Arts in Monza and he is the entrusted professor for the course of ‘Refurbishment and Conservation’, at the Building Engineering School of the Politecnico di Milano, Campus of Lecco.
