Anna Neimark and Andrew Atwood are founders of First Office, a design studio based in downtown Los Angeles and at firstoff.net. First Office projects include a collaboration on the Pinterest Office Headquarters in San Francisco, a Dome stage in Afghanistan, a temporary Screening Room at the MAK Center for Art in Architecture in Los Angeles, and a rehabilitation of a Shotgun House in Lexington, Kentucky as well as texts in Perspecta 46, Project 1, and Log 31.
Andrew is Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design. His research centers on conceptual art practices and the parallel potential of architecture to critically engage its means of production. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Studio Art from the University of Richmond and a Master of Architecture from Harvard GSD.
Anna is Design, Visual Studies, and Graduate Thesis Faculty at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Prior to co-founding First Office with Andrew, she worked at Jonshton Marklee in Los Angeles and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA/AMO) in Rotterdam and New York on several large-scale, award-winning projects. Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Princeton University and a Master of Architecture from Harvard GSD.
