Franz Biggel, born 1957, studied mechanical engineering at the Fachhochschule Technik in Ulm. From 1984 to 1993 he did free-lance work for the ProduktEntwicklung Roericht Design Studio before he founded the “7.5 Project Group” together with Burkhard Schmitz. This Group developed furniture products for Pohlschröder and Herman Miller, to name but a few. A lectureship at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin (1989-1992) was followed by an appointment as Professor for the design of product systems at the Fachhochschule Schwäbisch-Gmünd with a focus on technology-oriented, constructional product development.
