Flux acoustic modular wall panel system
Designed by Friends of Wilson (copyright) 2011
Flux acoustic modular wall panel system combines inventive design with effective sound absorbency, for beautiful and inspiring interiors for workplace, leisure and home.
Flux is a graphically rich, acoustic wall panel system that is beautiful and original. It offers a visually sophisticated solution to the problem of unwanted noise within contemporary public, residential and commercial interiors including meeting rooms and offices, hotels, bars and restaurants, and reception areas.
Design, colour and finish of our flexible systems are used to create a unique and effective sound absorber for each interior space.
Who we are
Friends of Wilson is a new design consultancy that uses fresh design thinking to produce acoustic wall products and installations that mediate between design, craft and art.
Our inventive designs are dynamic, highly contemporary and suitable for a wide range of commercial, public and residential environments. Using our experience in interior and product design, we enjoy working with our clients to understand the architectural space in which our products will be applied, and to achieve the most successful outcome for their projects.
What we do
Friends of Wilson use open-minded approach, depth of thinking, and attention to detail to create work to surprise, intrigue, and engage people on many levels. Our UK-made products are well engineered and hand finished, use quality materials and are built to last in as efficient and sustainable ways as possible.
Why we do it
The studio brings together Creative Director Lynne Wilson’s 15 years’ experience as a product, interior and 3d designer. Prior to establishing the studio in 2010, Lynne worked for leading brands and design agencies in London and in the early 00’s brought her own designs to market, most notably the Loopy table which is hailed as a design classic and now in its 15th year of production.
Friends of Wilson is driven by a passion to experiment and encompass ideas from art, design and beyond, and evolve them into beautiful and accessible products.
We bring something new and exciting to the interiors market with a conceptual and practical approach that represents UK design at its innovative best.
Approach
Our work explores the use of abstract shape and form in interior architecture to create designs that can have varying degrees of visual order. Underlying this approach is the belief that we respond intuitively to the shape and form of designed things around us, as they reflect our emotional needs for excitement, risk, balance and order.
Bridget Riley: "..my work was really about stabilities and instabilities, certainties and uncertainties."
