Philosophy
“Informed by over thirty years’ expertise, our projects are rooted in a high degree of functionality. Yet design is also our playground where we create “HOTEL COUTURE”, transforming imaginative concepts into tailored interiors that shape memorable, one-of-a-kind atmospheres.”
Creating ‘Hospitality Design’ has been JOI-Design’s labour of love since 1984. As a leading European interior architecture studio, our skilled team partners with highly accomplished and creative interior designers, architects, graphic designers, engineers and artists to bring remarkable hotel projects, sensational restaurants and gorgeous spa facilities to life. Based in Hamburg, we bring boundless enthusiasm, dedication, a love of detail and decades of experience to our interior designs for high-end, privately owned and independently operated boutique hotels as well as projects for branded luxury hotel groups. Working with top manufacturers, our internationally experienced team has also successfully ventured into the design of furniture, lighting, carpeting and wallpaper via our recently launched division, Products by JOI-Design.
JOI-Design creates HOTEL COUTURE: the translation of emotions into imaginative design concepts that we tailor into bespoke, well-appointed interiors. Five key principles inform and shape our work as the DNA of everything we do: Culture, Authenticity, Contemporary Elegance, Experience, and Innovation. By weaving exclusive materials, luxurious finishes and the finest quality of craftsmanship into spaces rich with atmosphere, JOI-Design creates destinations that guests don't want to leave - places that they will return to time and again. We passionately believe that good design is a hotel’s best concierge.
