KRUCHIN Arquitetura, an office located in São Paulo and led by the architect Samuel Kruchin, operates in different segments of architecture, such as urbanism, institutional, residential and corporate buildings, adding to an extensive experience in preservation and restoration projects. In addition, it also has a consistent academic production on the numerous themes that surround it. The office, over almost three decades of activity, has won awards from the IAB-SP, for the “EEPG Barão de Monte Santo” project, the Architectural Heritage Category award by the 3rd São Paulo International Biennial (1997), of the 5th International Biennial of São Paulo (2003) for the project “João Cabral: Um Memorial à Poesia Brasileira”, and the magazine Arquitetura & Construção (O Melhor da Arquitetura 2011) with the “Fábrica Santa Helena”. In Preservation and Restoration, KRUCHIN Arquitetura was one of the first offices in the private sector with recognized performance, and restoration interventions are understood as a practice of contemporary architecture. KRUCHIN Arquitetura also works with the development of urban plans, furniture design, among other projects for programs that extend from residences to institutional buildings, and commercial spaces. Within Academic Production, pioneering initiatives stand out, such as the formatting of specific courses, both in undergraduate and graduate courses, aiming at the technical improvement of students and professionals in the area of preservation and restoration. Among the publications already made are: “KRUCHIN”, with a set of works in steel, edited by JJ Carol in 2006, “1000x Architecture of the Americas”, 2008 edition by Braun (Germany), and “KRUCHIN: a poetics of history - restoration work ”, edited by C4.
