STATEMENT PIECES FOR CURATED INTERIORS
La Chance is a Paris based design company producing furniture, lighting, accessories, rugs and wallpaper with a strong and distinctive style. La Chance gives a contemporary interpretation of the ornamental and decorative French furniture tradition rooted in the Art Deco period. The creations of La Chance share a sophisticated, rich and singular design based on noble materials. It is a come back to a warm and uninhibited luxury, breaking away from cold and conceptual design. La Chance produces investment pieces that will get a patina for the future generations to keep enjoying this contemporary family furniture.
A SIGNATURE STYLE
La Chance pieces share a theatrical presence and sculptural design. These conversation pieces are often the 'twist' in more traditional interiors. Our clients and partners are design enthusiasts who share a passion for strong interiors reflecting their personalities. The sophistication of La Chance products comes from the harmonious confrontation of shapes and materials. La Chance always plays with accumulation and juxtaposition of materials and colors. Another trait of La Chance pieces is the use of structures as ornemental elements. Since we only use traditional, noble materials and construction, we love to display what is usually hidden. As a result, most of our pieces are as interesting from the back as they are from the front.
A FRENCH HERITAGE
Art Deco is a Design movement that emerged just before World War 1 and dominated the artistic world until the decline of the 30s. It succeeded the exuberance of Art Nouveau and returned to purer forms while offering both a geometric and decorative style. Art deco is a major inspiration in La Chance approach to combined use of materials and the theatrical approach of interior design. As a designer and decorator, Jacques Emile Ruhlmann is the leading figure of the movement and established both the aestetics and theoric values of Art Deco. Rulhmann defined himself as an “ensemblier”, meaning ‘the one who puts together‘ in French. He was a real precursor for his time by being one of the first interior designers as he was indeed neither an artisan nor an architect.
MATERIAL & CRAFTMANSHIPS
Our love for beautiful materials is guiding the creative approach. The iconic designs are reinforced by the emphasis on noble and honest materials such as marble, solid wood, metal, cork, leather, blown glass, and pure lambswool from New Zealand for the rugs. All La Chance products are made in human scale production units in Europe (except for rugs custom made in India). This geographical closeness allows La Chance to develop a simple and respectul work relationship with its producers. Our highly qualified artisans combine traditional techniques and innovative processes to manufacture La Chance products. Each piece passing through the hands of our craftsmen is the object of a particular attention. La Chance offers bespoke services to meet the requirements of each client, both for residential, hotel and commercial projects.
