Juan Domínguez is an architect and a lighting designer from Medellin, Colombia, with an education in Fine Arts cultivated at the Florida Atlantic University, USA.
During his career as an architect, he worked for the American firm Forma Architects Inc., where he enhanced his skills and developed several residential and commercial projects. Then he took an Associate Degree in scenography at the Broward Community College.
After his graduation in Architectural Lighting Design at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, he started working with INDAL, a Spanish luminarie brand, then he was hired by Light Cibles in Paris, were he worked as an assistant for several projects. In 2007, he was transferred to Light Cibles Singapore, to work as project director in several projects.
In 2008 he founded his own lighting design and architecture studio named LightCube. This company is formed by an interdisciplinary group of people including architects, industrial designers, lighting designers, and others. Each of them is member of international associations related with their fields, such as the Professional Lighting Design Association (PLDA).
LightCube works considering the light as the creator and generator of everything. LightCube´s main goal is to dignify the lighting design up to a point where it becomes a potential element of any project. To achieve it, LightCube emphasizes light in both the concept and the form, by managing lighting sources and working with all the technical and subjective issues of light.
