MORE ABOUT LILA VALADAN
When there is no joy, there is no light. All that remains is darkness in our hearts. But beauty can save mankind. So we have devoted ourselves to create timeless rugs that shed harmony at homes. The heart of our company beats for the beauty.
LILA VALADAN stands for a fancy blend of tradition and modernity. Unique rugs that enclose dedication to the highest craftsmanship and stand for a philosophical confrontation with life. It is the belief in beauty, nature, tradition, craft and the paradise.
The history of the house of LILA VALADAN began in Persia, in the heart of Shiraz, known as the city of flowers, poetry, and love. When she met Mohammad Naziri, a famous carpet collector in 1982, it marked the beginning of a grand adventure, full of colours, forms, and myths. Together, they continued their journey far into Persian mountains to meet exotic nomadic tribes to find out how the women weave their love for nature into expressive carpets. Today, Lila is a seven time carpet award winner and manages 200 weavers that craft her identity of two worlds into her one of a kind rugs.
LILA VALADAN is a company that uses its profession to promote a specific lifestyle: To be truly modern, we have to come in terms with our tradition. Thus, all the crafting is based on old traditions and it mainly takes place outdoors – a swarm of looms installed in the weaver backyards, local gardens and deserts across the country.
The philosophy is backed by the idea to produce in exclusive and limited volumes. Outliers define the DNA of the company and not the numbers. Be it exotic materials crafted into revised antique rug, with 3.000.000 knots or large minimalistic flatweaves over 50 sqm, Lila always aims to create unique rugs that become the jewel of the home.
