Profile
Mikou Studio is a place of creation and experimentation in architecture and its inter-disciplinary cross‑fertilisation. Every project is an opportunity for challenging and redefining the meaning of a brief, a function in an urban, social and human context, in order to invent new ways of living, places of sharing and gathering. Mikou Studio is currently involved in projects throughout France, Germany, and Morocco, with a focus on cultural, sports, educational buildings, and Masterplanning.
Short Biography of the partners
Salwa Mikou was graduated from Paris Belleville Architecture school since 2000. She collaborates during 5 years, from 2001 to 2005, with Jean Nouvel on many international projects. From offices to housing in Beirut, Seoul and Paris to urban projects in Doha, Valencia or Rabat. She also takes part in a leisure complex in Koweit city, a park in Barcelona and, an urban project for the Tanger harbor. In 2006 she founded Mikou Studio in Paris and has completed public buildings such as Feng Shui swimming pool in Issy les Moulineaux, High School in Boulogne, College Jean Murçat in Saint Denis, Highrise Residential building in Bordeaux and also innovative Hotels and resorts. MikouStudio was selected to represent Morocco at the Venice Biennale 2014, directed by Rem Koolhaas on the theme “Fundamentals – Absorbing Modernity 1914-2014”. Mikou Studio has been awarded the «Isséen d’or» 2016 prize for the Feng Shui Aquazena swimming pool and has received Archi Design Club Award 2015, Fimbacte Cadre de Vie 2015, and 40 under 40 award. Salwa Mikou has been nominated for Arc Vision Prize Award 2016.
Selma Mikou was graduated from Paris Belleville since 2000.
